Description
The specimen consists of a transected uterus with a separate segment of tissue removed from the
uterine body. In the anterior wall of the uterus there is an intramural tumour mass. This has an
irregular partially infiltrative margin and is variegated pink and white. In the separate segment of
uterine body focal areas of haemorrhage seen. Histologically this is a malignant smooth muscle
tumour or leiomyosarcoma of the uterus. No clinical details are available.
